3.3.4 Apple changed how the Dock is rendered, so it’s no longer possible to customize the Dock’s look. (You can still customize the indicator lights!) Also, CandyBar still can’t change the internal icons of Mac App Store apps, due to code signing.

Can CandyBar change the Finder icon still? After the Lion update to 10.7.4 I can't change it anymore.

I am on 10.7 and my candybar doesn't let me apply changes. I can't change anything! I have no idea why?

3.3.3 works fine under Mountain Lion, including replacing the Finder icon, but as the description said, not the dock (as its graphics components have been restructured)

works just fine. you only need to edit your /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist to 10.6, then change yr icons, then edit the file backwards, voila!

I gave this a try using Candybar 3.2.2 and it didn't work. I still got the bar up top that said it was an unqualified system.

Just ignore that bar and it'll work!

But the Sidebar interface is still based on Snow Leopard (No AirDrop icon for example) and the sidebar icons cannot be changed in Mac OS X Lion.

@Geoffrey Do you mean the Finder sidebar? When I upgrade to Lion will it revert the sidebar icons back to normal?

[ Geoffrey]GeoffreyAnonymous 12 Jul 2011 04:51

Yes, the Finder sidebar displays grey icons in Lion. I assume they'll revert to normal if you upgrade, but I performed a clean installation so I can't say for sure.

keeps getting stuck when restoring all original icons

Panic locked changing the icons of apps downloaded from the store with this release. Kills a good portion of CandyBar's functionality, unfortunately.

Can or cannot Lion's grey sidebar icons be changed using Candybar?

thanks

Every time I try and apply icon changes, the "changing icons" progress bar appears and completes, but nothing happens. "Apply Icons" button still present. Press it again, and the same thing… looks like the app is doing something, but the icons aren't changing. After 10 tries to apply icons, I exit the app, and it says there are 'unapplied changes… changes will be lost if you quit now…' Nothing's working.

Been using CandyBar since the days of Pixadex. Certainly doesn't feel "lion ready". Currently running 3.3.1 (7.0).

@anyonewhowantstoknow I received a short email back from Panic… "This is a known issue. We'll be releasing a fix shortly." Smoke'em if you got 'em.

Candybar works just fine after doing the update, in Finder the icons are still grey in the sidebar, but other than that it works just like it did in 10.6

The only thing that doesn't really work well yet is getting the icon changes to reflect properly in Launchpad. Other than that, everything seems to be working.

helo…
could you change the gray icons on lion tool bar???

[ Sara]SaraAnonymous 03 Oct 2011 14:59

I can't make this work on Lion. When I click the "use these icons" or "use this dock" button, it just gives me a warning sound and nothing else happens, not even an error message.
Does anyone have the same problem?

@Sara
I have this exact problem, currently no clue how to fix it.

Solved it, completely uninstalled it using CleanMyMac, unpinned Chrome from the dock and reinstalled it. Works like a charm again :)
