Basic functionality appears to be fine, it does appear related to some strange behavior, where the menu bar becomes unresponsive after the system wakes up.

It doesn't wake my computer from sleep (clean install MBP Core 2 2.8 17" Early 2009) But if the system is already on, works just fine. - Note, I have my system set not to completely sleep, so it appears not to be able to get past the passcode lock I have set for 4+ hours of inactivity.

I had a problem where it wouldn't wake the computer but it turned out the computer wasn't actually going to sleep. I was able to discover that internet sharing was preventing the computer from actually entering sleep mode, once that was resolved alarm clock worked fine

System freezes (late 2008 MBP) when I tried to launch the app. I have to hard shut down the machine to get it to respond. It appears that has not been updated for quite some time
