Yes, Spectraview II is compatible with Lion but Instead of letting it write the new profile to the System you need to save it to the user's account. Lion will not let Spectraview save the profile to the default location. Go into Spectraview's preferences, click on ICC Profile, for storage location check the "Per user of this computer"
Click OK

Anyone have any luck with Mountain Lion 10.8?
SpectraView II will not start up for me at all. I downloaded the newest version (1.1.10) and still no luck. Might have to revert to Lion, which is annoying to say the least!

Spectraview II, version 1.1.1- (build 120420) works for me, but I had to use a USB A/B cable between the computer and monitor. Without the USB cable the software was unable to communicate with it.
I have an early 2008 Mac Pro with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT video card and the NEC PA301W-BK monitor.

I upgraded my mid-2010 Macbook Pro from 10.7 to 10.8
and now receive a "no communications" error from my LCD2490WUXi2 display using Spectraview II 1.1.10. I contacted NEC and received the following response "There has been a disruption with display data communication (required for Spectraview to detect the NEC monitor). NEC is working with Apple to get this resolved. No time frame is available for this resolution. " A clarification from NEC: If you have previously calibrated your display, "The monitor should still have your previous calibration in the LUT." So your display is still calibrated, you just can't recalibrate until the communication issue in 10.8 is fixed.

I just tried this with Mountain Lion and it worked fine with no problems at all on my NEC SpectraView using an i1Display Pro plugged into the mid 2010 Mac Pro.

Sorry for the mistake above. I meant to say it works fine with Mountain Lion and the MultiSync PA231W.

Important compatibility notice:
Due to issues with the new Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion), SpectraView II is not able to communicate with the displays on some systems with Thunderbolt (miniDisplayPort) video outputs when using a miniDisplayPort to DVI cable. This impacts all LCD 80 series, LCD 90 series, and the P221W models. NEC is currently working with Apple to resolve this issue, which is expected to be fixed in a future update to Mac OS 10.8.
The NEC PA series and newer P series models can utilize a USB connection to the display if necessary.

My Mac Pro (2009) is now updated to Mountain Lion 10.8.1 - but I am not able to do a monitor calibration with SpectraView on my NEC 2690 WUXI monitor. I use the NEC colorimeter (made by X-Rite).
NEC told me that it was an Apple incompatibility problem and that Apple was aware of the issue.

I have a Mac Pro 2008 (MacPro 3,1) and a NEC 2690WUXi and Running Mt. Lion — I'm getting inconsistent "greyscreen" on startups. It just hangs for hours.
Tried zapping PRAM, DiskWarrior, unplugged everything including RAM. Sometimes I can boot, sometimes I can't.
It started after I tried to calibrate with SpectraView II. I noticed Mt Lion changed my color slightly so I tried to recalibrate. It could not find a monitor and so I gave up, but then the greyscreens started.
Any ideas?

Same problem. Got Retina MBP. SV 1.1.12.1 starts but fails to communicate w/2690WUXi. Connecting via HDMI-DVI cable.
Is it worth to try connecting w/miniDP-DVI adaptor?

My solution was to get a DVI Detective (which also solved handshaking issues). I have to remove it when I recalibrate while rebooted in Lion, but it otherwise works great.
Note there are some reports now that 10.8.2 may have resolved the gray screen at login issue (NOT the Spectraview compatibility issue), but I haven't tested extensively, as I prefer the other benefits of the DVI Detective. You might want to try that first if you don't feel the $70 is worth it.

Spectraview ii stops working with the 10.7.5 update! Do not update if you rely on calibrating your monitor regularly. Spectraview will detect the monitor but it will not be able to communicate. NEC is working with Apple on a fix but there is no timeline. Stay with 10.7.4 until there is a fix.

I'm not sure if SpectraView II will install on Lion (mine was updated from Snow Leopard pre-installed) but it does RUN and it can CALIBRATE but can not save the icc profile. If you switch between few different profiles for different paper type, this is a problem.

When SpectrView opens, get message not communicating with monitor. When try to set Storage Location in Preferences, am not able to as Per user of this computer is grayed out. So, not able to use Spectraview with Lion.
