Lion has made Library folder invisible in home folder. If app doesn't open you must use the Go menu in Finder to open the "~/Library" folder then find and trash the "Icons" folder. The app will now work.

When I open GeditCom II, version 1.6, build 2, the GeditCom icon just keeps jumping up and down in the Dock, after a couple of minutes it stops. To close or quit I have to force quit.
I tried trashing the Icons Folder - that did not work.
Any more ideas?

If the app won't launch, you have to go into the ~/Library directory, remove the 'Icons' directory, possibly reboot and possibly empty the trash. It works fine after doing this.
