NOTES FOR DISC VERSION:
Works perfectly on Mac OSX Lion. To work on Lion, the app requires the update 1.2 Rev A (http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=19285), which allows it to run without Rosetta.
Except when you download the patch, it too is a PPC app and as such can't be run.
Prior to installing the patch, make sure the app remains in it's original folder. Move the whole "Roller Coaster Tycoon 3" folder to your applications folder. Then run the patch.
In order to run the patch, right click and click on "Show Package Contents". Click "Contents" then "Resources", then double click "RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.pkg". It should work perfectly.
If you want the game to work without the CD, follow these steps.
1. download the NO-DVD Crack from the following website:

2. Open the .dmg file
3. Replace with the RCT3 Panda icon from the crack you have downloaded. Just drag the new icon to the "Roller Coaster Tycoon 3" folder that should reside in you applications folder. Now attempt to run the game. Everything should work fine.

Also runs on Intel graphics (although specs say it won't)… running on 2011 Mac Mini Server (running Lion Server) with the Intel HD Graphics 3000.

So the problem is I can't launch RCT 3 on my mac without the patch. It gives an error. And if I want to make the update to fix that it says the installer can't be launched. Because powerpc applications are no longer supported.
So is there a way to fix that thing? I am using Mac OSX Lion.

Hello, I know how to fix this.
Its just so stupid that if you update to OS X Lion you loose Rosetta.
Anyway, this is what you gotta do.
1) Download the patch from the aspyr website -
http://www.macgamefiles.com/detail.php?item=19285
2) Open the .dmg
3) Open the white virtual drive
4) Copy the file to the desktop
This is the tricky part
5) Control click (or right click on the mouse) the file copied.
6) Click on show package contents
7) Contents
8) Resources
9) Double click RollerCoaster Tycoon 3.pkg
10) Follow the instructions to install
That's it! I was able to run it this way !

Errrr…Nothing is working for me. I first installed the patch onto my computer with the directions from Ivan as I had already downloaded RCT 3 a while ago. As I followed the instructions, they seemed as if they worked yet the original sign or RCT 3 uploaded and that Mac no longer supports Power PC applications. After such, I followed the instructions of nat and how to reinstall the program, yet that did not work either with an error message that says "An unrecoverable error has occurred and RCT 3 cannot continue." Someone please help me, because RCT3 is my life

Wait, never mind, i got that fixed. but there is another problem. whenever i want to play, the game shows up black and i can't play. its not my graphic card, i can't even get to the menu! and i am still able to take out the disk but the screen is still black. Can anyone help me?

Make sure you have the whole file in your applications folder, with the game located inside the file. Originally I had only dragged the application to the applications folder and I was getting the "An unrecoverable error…." message. Once I put the app back in it's original folder and dragged the whole folder to the applications folder on my mac it worked perfectly.
