Tunnelblick 3.2 works fine on Lion.

The latest Tunnelblick 3.3 beta — not Tunnelblick 3.2 — is recommended for use on Mountain Lion. Tunnelblick 3.2 _may_ work for you on Mountain Lion, but it may not — it depends on your particular network and OpenVPN setups.

You may get Tunnelblick from the Downloads page at http://code.google.com/p/tunnelblick/wiki/DownloadsEntry?tm=2.

Anyone having problems with Tunnelblick should contact the developers by posting to the Tunnelblick Discussion Group at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/tunnelblick-discuss.

Kirsten, I'm sorry for your problem with Tunnelblick and Lion.

Tens of thousands of people use Tunnelblick on Lion successfully every day.

There hasn't been a Lion-related problem with Tunnelblick reported to the Tunnelblick Discussion Group [1] or on the Tunnelblick Issues page [2] since Tunnelblick version 3.2beta30 (2011-08-31). The problem it fixed only affected a tiny number of users who were using specific hardware.

If you'd like help, use the above resources or contact me directly via email. You can get my address by going to [3], clicking the "…" in the middle of the email address "jkbull…@gmail.com", and proving you are human.

There is a problem with Tunnelblick and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion related to spaces and underscores in the name of the issuer of your certificate. See my blog post [1] for more details.

I also left this as a comment in the Tunnelblick forum but it did not get approved, yet.

Tunnelblick is awful with OS Lion. It's a good thing I thought that it might be the problem. It wrecked my ability to boot my system normally. Only way I could get my OS to run was in safe boot. As soon as I dumped all the Tunnelblick files, presto, my system was back up and running normally. Avoid this app if you have OS Lion!!
