Under 10.8 GM, Sentry forgets to start when the user logs in. It does start if ClamXav is launched, and will stick around until logout/shutdown. (ClamXav v2.3.1).

With this release (v2.3.1) under 10.8 Mountain Lion, for Sentry starts, you must add it in the elements being automatically opened when the user logs in.
Browse the hard drive to this destination /Applications/ClamXav.app/Contents/Resources/
then drag&drop the application ClamXavSentry.app into the window of the elements automatically opening when the user logs in (Users & Groups Preferences Pane).

Works better than expected, especially for the money (I've donated several times, because it's worth it).

Perhaps it isn't as fast as some programs that one could shell out money for up front, but it is thoroughgoing and accurate. Mr. Allan has created an application that doesn't miss a trick, and compares favorably with payware competition.

When I first started using ClamXav several years ago, I found one halfhearted intruder, and since then, using it regularly, I have never seen anything of a pernicious nature.

I commend the creator of this program.

I ran it on my MacBook and was shocked to find an email bot virus hiding on my hard drive. Now I run it regularly and haven't found anything else lurking, but I'm glad my computer isn't spewing out spam any more.

II ran CalmXav on my iMAC with Snow Leopard and everything worked perfectly. When I downloaded it to Mac MacBook, also with Snow Leopard, however, an ALERT came up that the app was not responsible for any problems, and then the ALERT froze, and I could not use the program at all. Any ideas why? Any ideas as to how I can get it to work on the MacBook? (I did also then transfer the program from the iMAC to the MacBook via a flash drive and the same thing happened.) Thanks. Best blessings, moc.liamg|mahnaljdrahcir#moc.liamg|mahnaljdrahcir
