I have a problem with Boom on Mountain lion.

The sound is muted after the MAC wake up from sleep, thus I have to open the Sound tab in preferences and choose the normal output instead of Boom.

Same here, but it only happens when in a setting where my AppleTV is available as an Airplay device for the computer. When I go to work where we don't have an AppleTV set up yet the problem isn't present.

Same as above. This app is NOT "ok" with Mountain Lion. Where do they get info to use a green check? Every single comment says it doesn't work.

I just deleted Boom, it was giving me such a god damn hassle. Even when I manually selected speakers, it flicked back to boom (and mute) shortly afterwards. Ridiculous.

Yup, same here.

Boom doesn't play well with Mountain Lion. I have also seen the correlation with AirPlay mentioned earlier. There's some sort of code-conflict there, too.

If I go to my menu bar and toggle between "AirPlay Mirroring On/Off" and "Apple TV," (under the screen resolution menu icon) then my computer will somehow relocate it's "Boom Brain" again and start directing sound to my MacBook Pro's speakers.

The sound-panel manipulation (internal speakers/Boom) in System Preferences works, too, of course. My temporary "workaround" for this problem has been to simply go into System Preferences (under your menu bar Apple icon), select the "Energy Saver" preferences icon (light bulb!), and then uncheck the "put hard disks to sleep when possible" option in both the Battery and Power Adapter settings.

This is clunky as heck, and it's probably not great for the hard drive, long term, but it's either that or continually toggle the sound settings to reawaken "Boom" from its poisoned apple slumber.

(gotta love the Sleeping Beauty metaphor — can I hear some light applause, please)
