Finally, after 3 hours on support chat, a senior advisor went into disk utility and deleted a tigerjet partition and viola! First time i've seen magicjack work since I had Snow leopard. I am currently running 10.8.2 and it is working like a charm!!

Officially not fully supported in Lion, https://discussions.apple.com/message/16589623#16589623 discusses various issues with disconnections etc…

Please do not mark doesn't work. Read carefully the caveats below.

It may not officially be supported, but it works with some caveats.

Magicjack has some problems with both 10.6.8 and 10.7.1 whereby it doesn't give up multitasking to anything but the Finder. If the machine doesn't have a keyboard, the setting for the automatic bluetooth keyboard detection will set it off. It works as long as you leave just the Finder on..

NO, it doesn't work. After 3 times and 6 hours in chat, and my trying it myself for a few hours, they tell me they are making upgrades and thanks for my patience. Of which I have none anymore! When you download the upgrade as posted above, the message says the file is damaged (believe me, I downloaded it several times in different browsers). I have wasted almost a whole day on this. Don't waste your time.

Hi!

So I just set up my uncle's Mac Mini 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, OS X Lion 10.7.2 and the Magic Jack does not work at all.

Initially it was fine on 10.7.0 out of the box but after we ran the OS X Lion updates 10.7.2 it just went wonky. We ran the MagicJack update as suggested and still no luck. Then connected it to a pc but no luck with that either when it used to be fine before. The MagicJack shows the same error on the pc as with the Mac. Very odd.

Decided that our MJ unit might be busted. So to eliminate this possibility we tried out our spare MJ unit and it still won't work.

Basically what we are experiencing over here is that after we double click to start the magicJack, where the MJ icon appears it tells me to re-plug the magicJack. Then it opens to their website. Re-pluging and their pop-up to their website is of no help at all.

And we need help. We need the Magic Jack to work to keep in touch with my baby cousin's cardiologist etc. in NY as we live in the Philippines. So we're a bit desperate. I'm already contemplating on reformatting and installing Snow Leopard since I've read that its fairly compatible/stable (?).

I hope a working solution is offered soon or at least a notice from magicJack that 10.7.2 isn't supported. At the very least there be comfort in clarity than offering nothing at all.

As was recently published on the Apple thread above, a new website discusses installing it on Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Server which may be of interest to some people. Server is not to be confused with Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Client which as sold does not say "Server" on its name nor "Client." Server is sold separately, and as part of upgrades to XServes, and Mac Mini Server.
