May require reinstall. I had to remove x11.app via terminal and install XQuartz before installing Gimp again.

Gimp 2.8 works for me in OS X 10.8 with XQuarts although it is slow to start.

Gimp 2.8 didn't work at first. I had to reinstall both before I could get them to work. Working fine now.

Gimp 2.8 works fine, however the display is not retina. On screen, when editing an image it looks a bit pixelated. (Or is there a way to change that?)
