I'm putting the finishing touches on the all-new RoaringApps, with support for Mavericks & iOS 7.
Try it out now and help me squash some bugs.

You will, obviously, need to install Java runtime, but Lion will find it for you when you run the SPSS installer. One fail ("processor unavailable") after this app had been open for several days.

Can someone check to see if PASW/SPSS 18 work on Mountain Lion (10.8)?

I just downloaded Mountain Lion and now I can't use SPSS 19 or 20. Could be something I'm not doing however SPSS worked just fine yesterday.

SPSS/PASW 17.0.3 already installed on Snow Leopard starts up and opens data files. Won't have time to test more comprehensively until later.

For older versions like SPSS 16 or 17 there is a guide to install java 1.5 on Lion: http://www.s-seven.net/java_15_lion

What about version 16? Will it work on Lion?
[ NICFE]NICFEAnonymous 23 Jul 2011 14:20
Ok, but does SPSS 17 work on Lion?
[ Bboy]BboyAnonymous 07 Aug 2011 18:01
Yes, it does, with the work around suggested by Tiago. Does take some Terminal basic skills.

Version 18 works for the most part if you install the 18.0.3 update. However, it may crash if you close all the windows
[ Brian]BrianAnonymous 28 Dec 2011 20:20
Haha, SPSS is "designed" for Windows users. That's why it 'crashes' when you close the data window. This is a windoze 'feature', NOT a BUG.

Yes! SPSS 16 Working on Lion, both when installing from scratch and when upgrading from SL with SPSS installed. Only have to follow the instructions on Seven.net to install Java Runtime 1.5 in Lion, and then, put the 1.5 version ABOVE the 1.6 version on the Java preferences panel
