I had an issue with restoring my contacts from an exported Address Book backup (.abbu file). Every time I restored, the iCloud data overwrote my restored contacts.

The resolution was to disconnect from the Internet, delete contacts in iCloud.com/€
#contacts import the .abbu file, select all contacts, export as vCard, delete all contacts, import vCard file.

The process left all my groups empty.

Lion Address Book doesn't accommodate "yyyy-mm-dd" date format…

Lion Address Book completely ignores system wide date settings.

e.g. if you have settings of ISO-8601 (YYYY-MM-DD) it'll display "October 8, 1984" instead of "1984-10-08" and won't accept ISO-8601 as input either.

AddressBook is quitting as it tries to open.
It is a big problem!
Could you give me an answer?

No matter HOW MANY TIMES I correct entries and last names, Address Book reverts to the errored book's copy and I HATE IT, between FaceTime that NOW doesn't work on my wife's machine or mine since the "upgrade" we're so angry… and the 12 year olds that Apple hires, they just give a darn about anything now other then taking your money. Sad.
