You may also want to try free Ammyy Admin
http://www.ammyy.com

It doesn't require installation or specific config. It works behind gateways NAT without port mapping as well as within one LAN.

Good alternative though!

and how would you do that without seeing anything on the remote computer?

Eugene, that must be a joke. Ammyy is only for PC with Windows!! This website is about apps compatible with Macs!!!

Unable to install Teamviewer 7 on OS mountain lion. Previously used Teamviewer 6 and OS lion.
" “TeamViewer7.pkg” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers."
Any suggestions or solutions?

To fix that problem you need to go to "System Preferences -> Security & Privacy" and then, under "Allow applications downloaded from" select "Anywhere".

If the option is greyed out, you have to make sure that the tiny lock on the left bottom corner is unlocked. if it isn't, click on it and insert your admin password to unlock it.

i hope this helps :D

Alternatively you can open the unsigned app without changing your settings by right-clicking on it and choosing Open.

this app on lion doesn't work when Mac has the screen turn off (sleep mode, not in stop)

in "rest mode" when it turns monitor off and stops the hard drive it'll act like its connecting which in snow leopard it would and now it does not. I'm troubleshooting now trying to find a fix. Trying a fresh reinstall. Will update when issue is fixed.

Viewing works in version 6.0.10323, but when you take control of the mouse the program freezes.

Even in version 6.0.10323 I still have the problem connecting to a iMac that has its monitor in sleep mode. Teamviewer starts to connect but I don't get the window where in the screen of the iMac is represented. Very strange bug.

TeamViewer can not connect when MAC screen off. Any windows do not appear after connection established. So, I cannot control remote machine even though it is connected.

It's not a new bug. Old version has it also.

I also see a blank black screen when connecting to a Mac OS 10.7 Lion host. I have raised a ticket with their support, and will report back what they say.

Cheers,
Mark.

Having the same issue with no monitor plugged or monitor off when trying to access using teamviewer. Any updates on this?

This may not be just a Mac problem — I'm running Teamviewer on a set of PCs with Windows7, and occasionally it "connects" but does not open any viewing windows. The only thing I have found to fix it is a reboot of the remote computer :(
