History:
For the 2010 revision of the Mac mini, Apple thought it best to redesign the unit completely, ushering in a shorter but wider design of 7.7" x 7.7" x 1.4". The new footprint permitted Apple to attach a circular "easy open" base so as to provide access to the previously hard-to-get-to RAM slots and thus to facilitate RAM upgrades.

The back of the unit hosts the same number of ports as prior models, but adds a long-overdue SDXC card slot.

Internally, changes abound, with most of the heavy lifting done by the NVIDIA 320M MCP. With the revised design able to utilize DDR3 RAM and a quicker graphics core for the same US$699 at the time, the 2010 mini almost certainly left one to guess whether one should replace a tower Mac with this model.
