I did a complete clean install of Lion using the Command-R during reboot to erase the existing hard drive and re-install (make sure you have a ethernet wire connection, WiFi may not work) Lion. Reinstalled Notes 8.5.2, along with all the latest patches. Made sure Java and Java essentials was installed. Made the POSIX_SEMAPHORES=1 entry in the NotesPreference file and Viola! Woks perfectly. Not one crash or hiccup all day long.'
